Connecticut Bus Accident Lawyer Joseph Morelli Comments On Serious Bus Crash On I-95 In Connecticut

Hartford, CT (PRWEB) July 26, 2013

An I-95 bus crash in Connecticut involving two commercial buses resulted in nine injuries, according to a July 3 Eyewitness News 3 report titled “Bus crash causes major delays on I-95 in Stratford.” The accident serves as a reminder for all motorists to drive defensively and cautiously, especially on busy highways, according to Connecticut personal injury lawyer Joseph Morelli of the Law Offices of Mark E. Salomone & Morelli.

“The I-95 commute is always potentially dangerous for everyone on the road,” Morelli said today. “The highway can get congested with buses and trucks as well as cars and motorcycles during rush hour every day and also in the days leading up to a holiday. When drivers are distracted, tailgate or don’t give themselves enough time, accidents can happen quickly.”

The two-bus accident occurred on the southbound side of I-95 at around 11 a.m. on July 3 between exits 30 and 31 in Stratford, CT, according to Eyewitness News 3. According to the driver of tractor trailer, he and one of the bus drivers were forced to suddenly slow down after a vehicle cut them off, Eyewitness News 3 reported. The driver of another bus was unable to slow down, crashing into the bus and causing a chain reaction car accident involving a fourth vehicle, according to Eyewitness News 3.

Traffic was backed up for 10 miles due to the multi-vehicle accident the day before the July 4th holiday, according to Eyewitness News 3. The driver of the bus that crashed into the other bus was cited for driving too closely, Eyewitness News 3 reported. The driver of the fourth vehicle that crashed into the back of the buses also was cited, Eyewitness News 3 reported.

Many of the people traveling on the two buses declined medical treatment, according to Eyewitness News 7, “Multiple injuries when buses crash on I-95 in Stratford” (July 3, 2013). The injured passengers were taken to several hospitals in the Bridgeport, CT area, Eyewitness News 7 reported.

“Even if you don’t think you are injured after a bus accident, it’s important that you seek immediate medical attention to make sure you are truly healthy,” said Morelli, who represents victims of negligence and families who lost loved ones in accidents. “You might feel like you can shake it off, but you might have suffered an injury that only gets worse down the road. Internal injuries might not be immediately apparent. And if you’re not careful, you could end up with a serious, even life-threatening medical condition.”

Morelli said it’s wise to consult with a personal injury lawyer who can make sure an injury victim’s rights are fully protected.

“The attorney can help pursue compensation for the victim’s losses and help send a message that careless behavior will not be tolerated,” Morelli said.
